Wadi El Hitan, also known as the "Valley of Whales," is a paleontological site located in the desert of Egypt, about 150 km southwest of Cairo. It contains some of the most important fossil discoveries of early whale evolution, and is considered to be one of the most important paleontological sites in the world.
