This temples has two massive rock temples located in southern Egypt, near the border with Sudan. They were built during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BC and are considered one of ancient Egypt's most impressive architectural achievements. These two temples were relocated in the 1960s to avoid their flooding during the construction of the Aswan High Dam. The larger temple is dedicated to Ramses II and features four 20-meter-tall statues of the Pharaoh at its entrance, while the smaller temple is dedicated to his queen, Nefertari. The temples at Abu Simbel remain one of Egypt's top tourist destinations and are a testament to the grandeur of ancient Egyptian culture and architecture.

The drive from Aswan to Abu Simbel takes about 3 – 3.5 hours one way along the desert road, so be prepared for a full-day excursion with significant travel time.
At Abu Simbel you’ll see the two remarkable rock-cut temples built during the reign of Ramses II, the Great Temple dedicated to the king himself, and the smaller temple of Queen Nefertari, both celebrated for their colossal statues and intricate reliefs.
