The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa are a subterranean tomb complex located in the city of Alexandria, Egypt. The Catacombs are a unique blend of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman architectural styles, and they are the only known example of a multi-level tomb of this type.
Pompey's Pillar is a massive column located in the city of Alexandria, Egypt. It is made of red granite and stands at over 30 meters (98 feet) tall. The pillar was built in honor of the Roman Emperor Diocletian who ruled Egypt from 284 to 305 AD. The column is decorated with carvings of the emperor's military victories, as well as inscriptions in Latin and Greek.
The Qaitbay Citadel is a medieval fortress located in the city of Alexandria, Egypt. It was built in the 15th century by the Mamluk Sultan Qaitbay, who ruled Egypt from 1468 to 1496. The citadel is built on the site of the ancient Pharos Lighthouse, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, which was destroyed by an earthquake in the 14th century.
