Full Description An excursion to Cairo with round-trip transfers from Hurghada lets you discover the "City of a Thousand Minarets.". On the long journey, enjoy views of the Gulf of Suez from the air-conditioned comfort of your car. Your Egyptologist guide will take you to the Giza Plateau, the first of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Exploring the mortuary temples of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus will provide you with breathtaking views of the Pyramids of Giza. Learn about the stories behind the temples' construction and their legends. The Great Sphinx is a massive statue of Pharaoh Khafre with a lion's body and a reclining mythical beast. View Pharaoh Khafre's Valley Temple across from it, believed to have been built in ancient times. After lunch, take a break at a local restaurant. Discover the artifacts at the Egyptian Museum with fast-track entry in Tahrir Square, then drive to central Cairo. This museum features over 120,000 masterpieces dating from the pre-dynastic to Pharaonic and Greco-Roman periods. It was designed by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon. Perfect combination of past
We discovered ourselves in the busy markets and ancient sights of old Cairo before we got to the Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square, where they made Egyptian history come alive. This trip was a perfect combination of past, culture and adventure; it will forever remain fresh in our minds.
